Saw the latest Miyazaki film last night, with Jared and his friend Hannah. It is as beautiful as his films often are, just watching sequences of trees and landscapes. The story is of the dreams of an aeroplane designer called Jiro (not the same Jiro who dreams of sushi). He shares the dream with an Italian designer, and appears’ in the Italian’s dreams from time to time. These are war planes built, but the film isn’t about that. It is a romance between a man and his dream of designing great planes and the same man and the love of his life. See everyone of his films if you haven’t already. Spirited Away is still the great work, btu the others are all worth attention.
